No visit to Sydney is complete without seeing an opera at the Sydney Opera House, where Opera Australia presents 200 performances a year. The most popular operas and musicals are performed most nights January to March and June to November. The season can be found at https://opera.org.au/calendar Groups from 20 to 1500 delegates can be accommodated for and private performances can also be arranged. For just four weeks of the year (March–April), an astonishing, purpose-built outdoor venue is created on Sydney Harbour, for a truly remarkable opera event. A huge stage is erected on the water’s edge complete with seating for 3000, cafés, restaurants and bars. This is ‘pop-up’ at its grandest. Tickets are generally between $99 and $330. ITOs, PCOs and conference organisers access commissionable rates. For more information, visit opera.org.au/mice or email tourism@opera.org.au
